It’s a beautiful Sunday afternoon and I am sat in the back garden reading the money section from The Times.
Everything is incredibly positive with headlines, such as “Bombed out assets set to bounce back” and apparently the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (whoever they may be) have confirmed that the recession ended in March with the economy increasing in both April and May.
Surely it can’t all be over? It was only a few months ago that we were facing financial Armageddon GDP in the great depression about 30% and so far the US has fallen a total of 3%, surely there must be some more bad news to come.
In summary the weather is great, stock markets are up, we are out of recession, according to official statistics everything is getting cheaper by the minute and exchange rates are improving just in time for everyone’s summer holidays.
Even house prices are up! With everything going so well, why do I feel more nervous than ever?
