Like many people working in financial services, Debbie fell into the industry by accident over 20 years ago.  Having returned from a 6 month stint living in Italy, she basically needed to earn some money and took the first job that she found - an Office Clerk with Sun Alliance.

She did however develop an interest in the marketplace, specifically in the pensions arena and continued her career with a regional brokerage before joining Britannia Life which is where her path first crossed with Colins'.  She then spent 8 years working for Aegon (Scottish Equitable as it was known as back then) prior to joining Equilibrium.

Debbie has been with the company since May 2001 and has helped lead the team expansion from 6 to 26 staff as well as maintaining responsibility for the day to day running of business including compliance, finance and operations.

Debbie rates her greatest achievement as becoming a partner in Equilibrium, and then successfully raising a scary amount of finance to increase her capital share of the partnership!

Debbie lives in Biddulph in North Staffordshire and, having spent several years renovating a cottage, is now trying in vain to keep her garden under control - along with her chickens and Basset Hound, Beau! She loves ski-ing, travelling and cooking although all pastimes have taken a back seat since the arrival of her son in autumn 2009.  If she wasn’t in the financial services industry she would like to be a food critic or a sommelier!
